Meet Marissa

Stem cell scientist, artist, and proud cat mom

I am excited to share my experiences, lessons, and stories as a scientist. My mission is for science to be viewed as impactful, approachable, inviting, and dare I say "cool".

I am also not going to let science off the hook. There is room for improvement in how we conduct science, communicate it, and compensate for work done in the name of it.

So let's wear our critical thinking hats, (I do love a good hat), explore these topics together, and have a little fun along the way!

From My Blog

Welcome to the Specific Expertise Blog!

Here, I'll delve into the wild world of science, the trials and tribulations of navigating life as a thirty-something professional, and the joys of leaning into your potential to sparkle.

Need a speaker?

Public Speaking Aficionado

Hosting an event and want an enthusiastic, confident, and experienced speaker? For over a decade, I've presented cutting-edge neuroscience research, hosted symposiums, and promoted science education.
